Hello there my lovely fellow hookers!!!! I wanted to take just a moment and introduce myself. My name is Marie and I currently reside in Ohio (however, my heart forever longs to be in Vermont!). I am the mother to three beautiful children, ages 2, 4, and 9 years old. I also recently gained custody of two little girls ages 5 and 8 years old. I am the “pseudo wife” to my best friend and he is also the one whom designs and manages this here blog. I love animals and I currently have two dogs and two cats. So as you can more than likely guess I have a pretty hectic household.
I have spent much of my life being active in the crafting community, but crocheting has been the one to really win my heart over the years. I began crocheting at around nine years old, yet didn’t really start dedicating much of my time to it until 2014 when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Not only was I diagnosed with cancer but I was also pregnant with my youngest daughter. So as you can imagine it was a very scary time for me and it was crocheting that got me through all of the panic attack stricken nights and all those all-day doctors’ appointments. It was then that I truly fell in love with the craft and wanted to do more than just crochet granny squares and baby blankets (while there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with doing just that!). I wanted to use this as a way to show love and help others in my community to get through tough times.
While I was pregnant I had made and donated over 123 “lovies” and donated them to the hospital NICU that I was to deliver my daughter. Thankfully, even though I was told that my own baby girl would more than likely spend much time in that NICU, she was delivered happy and healthy and went home with me from the hospital the next day. Long-story short, I really do feel that if it weren’t for crocheting I truly would have gone mad.
So why a blog? Well, why not! Outside of crocheting I have always enjoyed writing and helping people, blogging allows me to do both. With this blog I want to not only inspire others in this wonderful community to use their craft to bring joy to others around them, but I want to offer help to those who long to better their craft. I want to offer my own insight to new and upcoming products, give out free patterns and direct you to wonderful tutorials that have very much helped me along the way.
Lastly I just really want to say thank you for taking the moment to check out my blog and feel free to contact via my email if you should ever have any questions!
